[...] Maybe I’m boiling about this because I know masses of people are going out to celebrate with their mothers today, and I don’t begrudge them that one bit. I had a good birthday celebration. It probably has more to do with the fact that my mother chose her relationship with her pathologically narcissistic, abusive husband over her children. I’m way past feeling guilty about doing what I had to do to separate myself from that situation. I know I’ve made the right choices for myself and I’m on my right path now. But this lingering sadness will probably never fully fade, or at least a part of me will still wish that I’d had a real mother and father growing up. (“Real” meaning parents that were consistently nurturing and supportive, and invested in me beyond my value as an object to reflect their success and social status). Oh well, press onward. This year’s Rune, with its most auspicious timing, is Wunjo.
I agree with Kaedrich. Tyriel and I have often had discussions about the runic energies. Specifically about observing the runic images around us in the everyday and in calling those energies to us and using them.

Tyriel's insights have been very helpful during challenging times for me. I think he has considerable insight to share in this aspect of the runes and I hope he will expand his thoughts about this as this blog develops.

What I really like about what I am ready so far is that you do not focus soley on the passive aspect of the runes. Many sites, and books, tell of what a rune means in a divination reading.

However, you are expressing the active energies of the rune in the real world and inner wolrd. This is the next direction of rune work. Your comments on Wunjo exactly reflect the aspects of Wunjo energy that are alive, healing, mediating, and unifying.
